Restaurant.com is an online restaurant directory allowing users to purchase discount cards for their favorite eateries. Started in 1999 by Ken and Cary Chessick, the original goal of Restaurant.com was simple, to create an online directory for restaurants throughout the United States. As the directory expanded from 5,000 restaurants by 2004 to over 18,000 in 2011, the mission of the company changed. Today, Restaurant.com strives to provide diners with over 50,000 gift certificates daily for every type of food imaginable.

"AVOID THIS SCAM!! Bought a "certificate" using the Restaurants.com app on my phone. First time using them. Went to restaurant and they did not honor the certificate. The only reason we decided to eat there was because of the "discount" that we never received. There is no contact number for this business, which is a red sign that I should have looked for before giving them my credit card information.I use them all the time and NEVER had any issues."

"Restaurant issued gift certificates without my knowledge. I called them and they said they would take care of it. They did not. People come in and use there certificates to get free food. I try not to turn these people away as that is bad business. Restaurant is a morally bankrupt business. The only people benefitting are the people who take the money. I am sure when people are told that we do not take the coupons they feel bad. Either way people feeling bad is a no win for everyone. Restaurant's business model does not work."

"At this point, I might review this sight at "0" if I could. I have enjoyed some meals for a deal, but when I have had a problem, they are impossible to reach. I have literally spent an hour on hold as I needed to get my money back for spending $40 on a deceptive add for Hilton Hotel coupon that was supposed to be worth $500. When I purchased it, it would only give me a slight discount on a full rate room per visit. So this was a sad purchase that I am unable to use. I am still trying to get my money back but can't reach them online or by phone!"

"Bought "$40 for a $400 Hotel and Resort eGift Card Featuring Hilton Hotels World Wide" from specials.restaurant.com.
When I tried using this gift card at hotelandresortcard.com to book my $400 hotel, they were charging for $45 from my gift card and rest all i have to pay from my credit card. It was feeling like being fooled and send email to this store to take gift card back and return my money.
They said they cant give my money back instead they give another gift card.
Big scam run by Special.restaurant.com and hotelandresortcard.com, I lost my $40."
